Unshelved interviews Nancy Pearl

Unshelved, for those who don’t know, is a comic series created by Gene Ambaum and Bill Barnes. I highly recommend it if you haven’t checked it out. Their website is www.unshelved.com/. It’s very amusing and centers around the daily library life of a librarian named Dewey at his job in a Public Library. So funny and entertaining.

Well, at this year’s BookExpo America conference, they interviewed Nancy Pearl, who is a very famous librarian, an author and who also has a librarian action-figure modeled after her. The interview is about an hour but is informative and entertaining. Her capacity to remember everything she’s read is amazing as well as her ability to recommend something to read on just about any subject. She has impeccable taste and a wonderful sense of humor, an outstanding role model for information professionals.
